Stanky Creek Work Day

5/20/00

Thanks to everyone that showed up for the Stanky Creek work day. The morning rain put a damper on the attendance, but we had five hardcore trail builders show up. Devin Allen, John Herren, Jason Pruitt, John Sheidhauer and Chris Irving. We were able to build a bridge on the yellow loop, cut out a fallen tree on the front section of the white loop and we added an excellent new section of trail on the north end of the white loop.

The trail signage went in as planned and now the trails will be called by their new names, the white trail (the original main trail), The yellow trail (formerly known as the middle trail) and the blue trail (the trail by Yale Road). With the addition of the trail maps that are located at the Stanky Creek Trailhead kiosk, now even a novice rider or hiker should be able to find the way around the big stank with no problem.

After the work party, Rod Bickel of R. B's. Cyclery catered a lunch consisting of pizza, deli sandwiches, chips, drinks and some the best chocolate chip cookies around, Thanks Rod.
